HERDADE DO CEBOLAL
The Herdade do Cebolal is situated along the Alentejo Coast, in the village of Vale das Éguas in the Setúbal Peninsula region of Portugal. Since 1890, this family estate has passed on from generation to generation, being currently managed by the 4th & 5th generations: Isabel and her son Luís Lufinha Mota Capitão. The knowledge gained through the years, and shared from generation to generation has created a project unlike any others in Portugal. One that truly believes in the legacy we leave our children and our planet.
The Herdade do Cebolal is a resplendent ecosystem, where vines, bees, eucalytpus, cork and pine trees, sheep, pigs, and a gazillion other animals call home. This ecosystem lends the natural wines produced by this artisan family a true expression of terroir. Respecting the authenticity of the nature surrounding them, this collection of wines made with low intervention throughout is a real gem in Portuguese wines.
